The Lams opened their first center in the heart of Seattle. Since then, the company has grown rapidly, offering an ever wider range of programs.

Due to the immense demand for their services, the company decided to expand their business by offering franchise opportunities.

2010

Acquired by the Lams and renamed BrainChild to Best in Class Education Center where it continued to expand along the west coast.

2011

First east coast location opened in Moorestown, NJ

MEET OUR FRANCHISE TEAM

At Best in Class Education Center, it takes a special individual to take on the role of shaping the young minds of our world.

Hao Lam
CEO and Chairman

Having discovered his passion for teaching while helping peers with their math, Hao Lam founded Best in Class Education Center in Seattle in 1995. Hao’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to begin franchising the business at the end of 2010. Today, Lam oversees 50+ franchised centers across the United States. His goal is to provide quality supplemental education to empower students to change the world.
In addition to his responsibilities at Best In Class Education Center, Lam is a motivational speaker, who encourages people to achieve their full potential. In his book From Bad to Worse to Best in Class: A Refugee’s Success Story, Hao shares his success story from humble beginnings as a Vietnamese refugee to leader of a national education franchise in the US.
Hao had served as the president of Entrepreneur Organization of Seattle and also the IndoChina Chinese Refugee Association. He is currently serving on the board of Vietnam Scholarship Foundation and UW Consulting and Business Development Center.

Laura Leddusire
VP of Operations

Laura graduated with College Honors, Cum Laude, with a B.A. from the University of Washington. She also has a certificate in Business Administration from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Laura has been a part of the education field for over 10 years. She started as an English instructor before becoming an Education Center Manager, then VP of Operations for Best in Class Education’s corporate centers in Washington. She is currently the VP of Operations for the Best in Class Franchise and is excited to share her knowledge with franchisees. She has a passion for education and helping people reach their full potential.
Laura is also a board member of the Young Shakespeare Workshop, a local award-winning, non-profit organization that empowers underprivileged youth through the power of language and theatre. She feels fortunate to have a career that allows her to make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of students across the United States.

Stephanie Zhu
VP of Finance

Stephanie’s experience with Best in Class started over 20 years ago when she was enrolled as a student in Bellevue, WA. While continuing her enrichment at Best in Class, Stephanie stayed in the greater Seattle area and eventually graduated from the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster’s School of Business with a concentration in Accounting and Marketing. During those studies, Stephanie transitioned from Best in Class student to teaching assistant which eventually led her to be the Bellevue Center Manager.
In 2013, Stephanie joined the franchise support team full-time and worked extensively with both new and existing franchisees with their grand opening and ongoing operations, and has since supported over 25 grand openings over the past 6 years. Currently, Stephanie is the VP of Finance to oversee the accounting and finance department while also providing administrative support to the other BiC teams.
